DR. JULIA WILSON, DC
"The doctor of the future will give no medicine, but will interest his (her) patients in the care of the human frame, in diet and exercise, and in the cause and prevention of disease."
- Thomas Edison
This quote has always resonated with me.
Since childhood I have been drawn towards being a doctor and having the skills and power to help people heal. During my undergraduate pre-medical studies at Cornell University I started seeing a chiropractor, and the philosophy of aligning the body, so that it functions properly, lasts longer… AND creates health and healing through correcting the root cause of the dysfunction, was an idea that immediately made sense to me. Since then I have devoted my life to becoming an expert in health through proper function. After studying pre-medicine at Cornell University, I received a Doctor of Chiropractic from Western States Health Science University.
Because I had a strong sports background, I originally worked with athletes. It was amazing to see people finally heal and get back to their sport. As time has passed however, I've realized that because motion is so important to health, getting EVERYONE back to their optimal level of motion and health is essential. With specialty training I've worked to become an expert on aligning the spine, but also the feet, ankles, knees and shoulders. I've found that a surprising number of injuries can be resolved with proper alignment.
PRE-NATAL & PEDIATRIC SPECIALTY
During my first pregnancy I was hesitant to visit a chiropractor, because we did not receive much education in adjusting pregnant people in school. However, my first labor was quite long and arduous so afterwards I sought out additional education to work with pregnant people. I had heard that it could be quite helpful in leading towards a safer, easier (and shorter!) birth. I became certified in Webster technique which is a gentle technique to help reposition the pelvic bowl leading towards optimal positioning for the baby. It's not uncommon for a pregnant mom to come in for care, and before too long bring in her older child, husband and mother. I like to think of our office as a true family center.
So many people can experience benefits from chiropractic!!
